"Life Is For Learning"

It turns out (not surprisingly) that Joni Mitchell knew what she was talking about. Prosper an incorrect translation of prudence. Prudence, a term used for David, for the Messiah, for the man of sorrow. And the song has more things that it's right about too. "Then can I walk beside you" Adam and Eve as Camille Paglia points out. The friendship of the Bible. Maybe it's the time of year or maybe it's the time of man. Paglia says this is gender neutral. I think not. But saying "the time of man and woman" is like throwing pennies at Paris Hilton's limo as she rolls by for fear she's poor. She don't need it and they might scratch the car. More seriously, a profound unseeing.

Americans--Get On Board

  I Peter 2:24ff

It's over. Get on board. Reflections of USAID, NED and all the acronyms, open secrets, turning our face away from the truth. Jehu to the messenger, "Get thee behind me." Jesus our Jehu. It's over Senator Warren. Get on Board.

He Is A Rewarder, Thoughts on My Sabbatarian Ancestors

"He rewards those who seek him" (Hebrews 11:6)

My ancestors were a little off, as can be quite easily be seen when considering yours truly! Try not to be distracted by the tick. In any case,  they had strange notions about the Sabbath. They stopped work on Sundays altogether. In doing this they were mistaken in at least two ways. First, they got the day wrong, the sabbath is not on Sunday which is the first day of the week. Sabbath is on Saturday. It begins on the evening of Friday and goes into Saturday. Second, they must have had the idea that somehow they were under the law of Moses. The law of Moses is holy and just and good but we are motivated and indeed, created, by the law of faith. (Romans 3:27) There is of course no reason that one cannot keep whatever one would like of the law of Moses, just don't be deceived that you are doing it for anything us other than for community, to keep the peace or some other like reason. (Acts 16:1-3) but it is not for our salvation. The Lord Jesus has come and he is the Messiah promised. But we can see that my ancestors were a little confused about the Sabbath. God however, rewards those who seek him, and preserves the fool and we certainly see this with my ancestors, as the following story will show:...

Relation to the Puritans, Hall p. 132 or thereabouts, the covenant not to oppress

Relation to USAID, this covenant is also our constitution. We can't do this oppression it's not in our "constitution" our "genetic make-up" as we might say today.
